Index Coop Head of Design provides a tutorial about how to fund your Argent Layer 2 wallet with fiat and how to then execute swaps for index products in app. Each of the Index Coop's thematic indices are listed on Argent zkSync making one-tap exposure to DeFi, the Metaverse, and Data Economy available for fees as low as $0.20.

How to Buy Crypto Indexes on Argent zkSync Video Transcript

Hey everyone. Welcome back. Today, we're going to be looking at Argent ZK sync, and how to buy index co-op products on their mobile app. Last week, Argent launched their layer two accounts with ZK sync, introducing instant transactions and fees up to a hundred times lower than mainnet. This means Argent wallet has just become one of the most viable ways for smaller traders to build out positions and index products without getting totally wrecked by fees. There's a few key steps that we're going to touch on in this video. Those include creating the account, funding the account, KYC, and then swapping crypto for index products. Let's get into it. When you first open the app, you'll have to create an account. If you need help with this specifically, we'll leave a link in the show notes. Argent has provided some materials on this.

When you get through that, and get through to the main app, there's four primary views that you're looking at. There's assets, which is kind of like the home base. You can see your total portfolio amount. If you swipe up, you can see what assets you're holding. Right now, I have ETH. By the end of this video, I have DPI. Activity, shows you a ledger of all the transactions you've had. This includes money coming in to fund your account, swaps, money going out.

Invest. Invest is the page with all the things that you can do on the app. Right there at the top, you can see crypto index funds. We'll come back to this when we're ready. First things first, we need to fund the account. To get Fiat in, we're going to go to the assets page, hit receive, and then we're given a couple options. In this case, we're going to hit buy crypto. We're going to choose what Fiat currency we want to purchase with, in my case, it's USD, and what crypto we want to be purchasing.

Now, right now, it's not possible to go straight from USD to index co-op products. The way the flow is going to look is we're going to purchase ETH, and with that ETH, we're going to swap for index products. I'm going to confirm my email address, enter your wallet address.

Now, you may have multiple accounts. If you're anything like me, who just downloaded the app, your ZK sync address is probably going to be the only option here. Just take a look at it, make sure that you have selected what you want, and hit proceed.

Now, I've already got my cards listed in here, but if this is your first time, you're going to want to add a new payment method. You can see there, it says takes minutes. It really does. It's not a difficult process. I'm going to go ahead and choose one of the payment methods I already have set up and proceed. Now, at this point, it may ask you to do some KYC, stands for know your customer. If you've ever signed up at a centralized exchange, the process is really similar. They'll probably ask you for a selfie, maybe a picture of a government document, like a driver's license or a passport. It's pretty standard stuff. It's also pretty quick.

All right. I'm going to take one final review of the order summary, make sure that I'm getting ETH for USD. These numbers all look right. It's going to my Argent wallet, being paid with my card, and I'm going to hit buy now. All right, we've got it done. It says here we've received your payment and we're running final checks. Some transactions can take a few hours to confirm, especially if it's your first purchase. I've been through this a couple times now. My first transaction went through and I had the crypto almost immediately. The second one, I did have to wait some time. If you don't see the crypto in your account immediately, don't panic. Just give it a bit.

Once the crypto hits your account and you see the balance on your assets page, then we can swap for index products. To do that, you're going to want to go to the invest page, hit this banner that says crypto index funds. There you go. You can choose which one you're interested in. They have the DeFi Pulse Index, Open Metaverse MVI, BED index from Bankless, GMI and Data Economy.

I'm going to go ahead and click DeFi Pulse. I get this pop up. You need USDC for this. What's going on in the background with Argent is Argent's plugged into Zigzag, a decentralized exchange built on ZK sync. This may happen on some of the products. It just depends on if they're paired with ETH, or USDC. The good thing is, unlike main net, it's not going to be a $50 transaction to make this swap. It's going to be almost free. I'm going to back out of there and hit trade crypto.

I'm going to want to trade ETH for USDC. Now, let's see. Let's trade .05. It's going to be $126 USDC. The first time you make a transaction on your account, there's a one time setup fee. This is a network fee. It doesn't go to Argent, but as you can see, mine was only 54 cents. Review trade, and hit trade now. Okay. You can see the swaps already done. Now I'm going to go back to the invest page, crypto index funds, hit DeFi Pulse. I want to put all the USDC I just swapped for, so I hit max. Review the trade, and hit trade now. You can see the transaction's in progress, and there it is, confirmed. If we go to the assets page, swipe up, you can see now, under indexes, we have DPI.

Yeah, I think you're going to find it pretty simple. To get started, download Argent on iOS or Google play. We'll leave links in the show notes. Please let us know in the comments if there's anything you want us to cover in the future. We'll see you next time. Download the Argent app and start trading today!
