The Index Coop is one of the most active DAOs in governance. We have an extremely active governance system, with 22 different snapshot votes in February alone. Therefore it can be pretty hard keeping up with every single governance proposal. Below we will outline how community members and $INDEX holders can get notified at any given time on both governance and metagovernance votes. Reminders of votes that are short of quorum will also be posted to the platforms below.
There are two main ways to get governance notifications from discord, the first way is through our dedicated ‘governance’ announcement channel. You can periodically check this channel everyday for new notifications, and vote on any new proposals that might be posted here.
You can go a step further to make sure you don’t miss any notifications by right clicking on the governance announcement channel, navigating to > Notification Settings > and selecting All Messages. This will ensure you are notified with each new announcement.
Alternatively, you can navigate to the ‘Owls Start Here’ category, > notification-selection. And select the :lightning: emoji to get notified whenever the Index Improvement (IIP) and Governance Updates role is used to notify everyone who has selected this role.
Governance notifications can also be found on our very own Governance Twitter. Head on over to Twitter and search up @coop_gov.
Tweets from the CoopGov account will occasionally be retweeted by the main Index Coop Twitter Account, as well as the Index Coop DAO twitter account. So be sure to follow those too.
Snapshot itself also allows users to get notified whenever a new vote is live in a Snapshot Space that you have joined. Follow the steps below to get notifications straight from snapshot.
This list will be updated continuously as new platforms to receive notifications arise. We hope this document is helpful in allowing our community and $INDEX holders to be well informed on all governance announcements.
If you are overwhelmed with the number of votes that you have to participate in, you can always delegate your $INDEX tokens to one of our community delegates. A delegation guide to help you do this can be found here.
